4 Strategies for Finding Your Ideal Partner in Multifamily Real Estate

Updated: Jun 22, 2024

Most large real estate deals are done with partners. To find other general partners to do deals with, first know what value you bring. See my previous blog post on the 4 roles in a general partnership:

Where to find partners?

1. Coaching mentorship programs

a.) To me this is hands down the best way because each person has gone through an education program, has a coach and community around them, had to pay a decently significant amount of money to be in the group, and you'll naturally see each other at events hosted by the mentorship program. Here's a list of credible multifamily mentoring programs I know of.

  • Sumrok Multifamily Group

  • Rod Khleif's Warrior Program

  • Multifamily Mindset

  • Grant Cardone's Mentoring Group

  • Joe Fairless Group

  • Jake and Gino's Multifamily Group

  • Think Multifamily with Mark Kenney

  • Multifamily Investor Tribe

I'm sure there are many more. These are the ones that come to me top of mind.

2. Friends, family or past co-workers

3. Meeting people at real estate events

Cash flow portal has a great resource for high level upcoming multifamily events from all the major event hosts. Here's the link:

You should see this months events. If you want to see all the upcoming events, your need to create a free account. This is really worth it and you don't get on email lists or anything.

4. Meeting people through zoom calls

A large portion of this business is networking and getting on calls with other syndicators. You're constantly going to be on the phone or zoom. Sometimes, you really do connect with people.

5. Virtual groups like private Facebook groups

An icebreaker message template would be:

Hello [Name] this is what I do in multifamily. I just saw that you’re also in [X Multifamily Group]. I’m always looking to connect with potential partners and investors. I’d love to get to know you better. Here’s my calendly link. [calendly link to schedule call]
