Should You Prioritize Trendy or Quality in Your Unit Renovations?



As much as I like the mentality to go with the highest quality which will last decades, I currently believe that this is not the best way to renovate an apartment unit.


The simple reason for saying this is style trends.


Many tenants will rent a unit based solely on if the unit they rent is instagram worthy. Solid oak cabinets may last you 20 years or longer, but the general consensus is that oak cabinets were in style 20 years ago. Grays and whites are what is in today.


For this reason, a lower quality option for unit renovations that need replacement every 5 years may be the best option because you can constantly switch out the styles of the times.
